USA, Type J33, 1944 (Licence built Rolls Royce Tay)
Based on the Whittle design of centifugal jet engine, built in the early 1940s and fitted to jet aircraft at the end of WWII. It has a thrust twice that of the Rolls Royce Derwent and powered Grummam Panthers, Cougars, Shooting Stars and Starfires.
